They all had perfect attendance in spinoff games back in the classic days, and had already previously been grouped together in Sonic Adventure 2. Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles are considered by most to be the main characters of the series due to the games they debuted in. It's unsurprising that Team Sonic has near perfect attendance. And three characters introduced in the game Knuckles' Chaotix were reintroduced as their own trio: Team Chaotix. Amy was grouped with Big from Sonic Adventure and Cream from Sonic Advance 2 as Team Rose. Shadow was resurrected in order to once again pair him with Rouge from Sonic Adventure 2, but the team was no longer aligned with Eggman, leading to him being replaced with a new character, Omega, and creating Team Dark. The original trio of playable characters from the first three numbered Sonic games, Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, were officially grouped together as Team Sonic. While behind the scenes info about the game's development shows that many other characters and considerations were being considered, the game eventually released with four teams that mostly set the precedent for the major factions of the Sonic series going forward. Sonic Heroes was based around the gameplay of teams of three. That is the fact that, of the four teams introduced in Sonic Heroes, one has continually drawn the shortest stick. I miss Cream, and would love to see her revealed through an episode of “Team Sonic Racing Overdrive”.With the Sonic series seemingly having a promising immediate future with the positive reception of the movies, comics, Sonic Prime's trailer, and Sonic Frontiers, I thought I'd take this opportunity to bring up one of my lingering issues with the current direction of things in the hopes that change can come about. A team of Tikal, Chaos (Sonic Adventure), and Cream would delight fans of Sonic’s GameCube days. Maybe they are saving her for a team yet to be revealed. Unfortunately, SEGA has not offered an explanation yet. If Big the Cat made the cut, why didn’t Cream and her beloved chao Cheese? The character last appeared in “Sonic Generations” (I think, let me if that’s inaccurate in the comments section), and has been replaced by four Chao on Team Rose. One thing that stood out to me during the “Overdrive” debut was the lack of Team Rose’s flight specialist, Cream the Rabbit. The modern character designs look right at home in this animated style. Only the most dedicated Froggy fans can buy his official gear! Check Out the Character Art! ![]() Froggy T-shirts are live now and available worldwide on the SEGA Shop! Each t-shirt supports polliwog pals owned by large cats. ![]() SEGA thought the same thing, and is now selling those exact t-shirts! As difficult as life can be for Sonic fans, there’s no denying the genius of the hedgehog’s social media team. ![]() If you watched the episode, you probably thought Big looked pretty cool rocking his Froggy gear. That series featured the characters’ classic designs, while “Overdrive” employees their modern looks. Neko was also responsible for “Sonic Mania Adventures”. The masterminds responsible for the series are Tyson Hesse and Neko Productions. “Team Sonic Racing Overdrive” will feature the characters from the upcoming game, including a few forgotten fan favorites! The first episode spotlights the much maligned Big the Cat, to great comedic effect.
